RUNNING FOR OFFICE IN 2027
for New Bedford
Running to fight for yOU!
New Bedford! I am here to represent YOU. No matter which office I hold, I will always put your best interests first. Before my own. Before anyone else's best interests--no matter how powerful they are. You - The People - always come first.

Why? Because New Bedford deserves better, needs to do better--and I am determined to work tirelessly to improve the lives of every single person in New Bedford. From the young to the poor; the rich to the old. From the landlord to the tenant. From the business owner to the employee. From the teacher to the parent to the student.

You deserve a leader who knows you; is present and active in the community; has good ideas and is open to suggestions. I can promise you, that is who I am.
Â
New Bedford. I hear you. I'm here for you. Let's get to work!
Community. Integrity. Progress.Â
MISSION
my mission is to build a stronger sense of community;
increase voter turnout;
and lead new bedford to a safer, more affordable future.

About Marcus
Activism
As an activist, I volunteer much of my time to causes that will help others. I am the creator and host of my own YouTube channel/Local TV Show, Wake Up New Bedford!, where I interview people to create positive news for the city. I was made the director of operations for the New Bedford Health Initiative, where we meet once a month to give away various free items and services to those in need. I serve as the current leader of the Monthly Ward 5 Neighborhood Association Meeting. I am also on the Human Rights Commission, and serve on several different boards all based in New Bedford.
Politics
I was a 2025 Candidate for School Committee for Public Schools of New Bedford, gaining 3,183 votes and losing by less than 1%. Following that race, I was also the 2026 Runner-Up in a Special Election to replace Bruce Oliveira on the same School Committee after his unfortunate passing. Therefore, I plan to remain involved in New Bedford and run for local office again in 2027. I am also a member of the Ward 5 Democratic Committee, and served as a delegate to nominate Ed Markey as the Democratic Party's nominee in 2026.
Personal
As a New Bedford native, I live to see my city thrive! I'd be nowhere without the support of my family, friends, and mentors. As an Army Veteran, I see it as my civic duty to help those around me: wherever, whenever, however I can. I am a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent of the New Bedford United House of Prayer for all People. I currently am a Recovery Coach with Stepping Stone Inc. And I am a proud alumnus of Nativity Preparatory School New Bedford.
